And by the way, which I forgot to mention on the previous post, this fan art is composed of three distinct parts.

Fanart Tuesday com Ledd

Uma homenagem à todo o carinho e dedicação que o amigo e grande ilustrador Lobo Borges deposita no seu quadrinho com o roteirista Trevisan, a Ledd. Quem ainda não viu, veja. Vale a pena.

A tribute for all the affection and dedication which my friend and great illustrator Lobo Borges invests in his comic book Ledd, with the writer Trevisan. If you haven't seen this comic yet, check it out. It is amazing!

Birthday Gift

Just made an illustration for an old friend's birthdate. She is now kinda far away, but still an awesome friend. First I did the sketch with a 2B pencil and then took it to the Photoshop

Making some tests on the Gradient Mesh tool

Yesterday I made some tests on the Gradient Mesh tool that I was very reluctant of using. Mostly because I found every result I've seen so far very lame. But Finally I gave it a shot, and guess what? I like it :)

Here are the results:

The awakening

Pra ficar legal!

VT for Pernambuco's Feneart 2011

Better late than never. This is a commercial for the Pernambuco's Feneart, a local fair of handcrafted art products. I animated the fishes, and the vernacular dolls. Made the vector part by part in Adobe Illustrator and animated it in Adobe Flash. Took me about two weeks from the sketch to the character animation. Here are some of frames from the spearman animation:

[open it in another tab for better visualization]

The animation had to be a little bumpy so it wouldn't lose the doll/puppet feeling:

Hope you guys like it! :)

Oil Free Earth

These were concepts for a friend of mine whose great idea to stimulate recycling among children inspired me a lot. The ship of these aliens landed near the main character's house. Leso, as he is known in school, hears the loud noise and run outside to find out what just happened.  He and the Aliens become friends and they tell him about the energy crisis on their home planet. They use vegetable oil for almost everything, and they're almost out of it. Leso and his friends (the children) will now gather all the oil they can so the aliens can save their planet.

I tried a funny look without losing the "running away from an energy crisis" aspects. Lilo and Stitch and some modern cartoons were strong references for the designs.

I used Photoshop and it took me about 2 hours each, once I had decided the final design of the characters.
